Poetry reading at the Jolly Sailor

 

Readings by local and international award winning poets and prose writers have been led since 2007 by Luigi Marchini and Gary Studley.

Operating every 2nd Sunday from 18.30 to 20.15, events take place in the upstairs room at The Jolly Sailor pub, 75 Northgate, Canterbury, Kent, CT1 1BA.

Entrance is free, and after the main performance / reading, all are welcome to take part in a friendly and supportive Open Mic session in the second half of the evening.

Katherine Gallagher is a renowned poet as well as a poetry mentor and poetry competitions judge. Born in Australia, Katherine has travelled extensively and read at festivals in UK, Australia and Europe. She has published ten collections of poetry as well as being featured in many journals. She is currently a member of the Editorial Board of Writing in Education, and collaborates in poetry workshops in London. Her many poems have been translated into French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Romanian and Serbian.
