Three SaveAs writers' poems are longlisted for the Canterbury Festival 2024 Poet of the Year Competition:

'Elan's Drive with Heidegger through the Black Forest, 1967' by Geta Ross.

'Siren' and 'Our Road in Summer' both by Gary Studley.

'Prairie' by Gary Studley is shortlisted.


Summer 2024

'A Village Life' - here is an article about the making of a film in the quiet village on the Kentish Downs. This project came to light after a call out - and involved SaveAs writers, Jan Webley and Lizzie Westray and local fim-maker Nigel Woodley...




'The Strangeness of Water' by Derek Sellen has won second prize in the Artemisia Arts Poetry Competition 2024 (France).


Spring 2024

Mary Anne Sellen's poem 'For John Neal' is published in the Grey Hen anthology 'Two Ravens'.


Derek Sellen was named the winner and Mary Anne was awarded second prize, out of all shortlisted entries to Ó Bhéal’s 11th Five Words International Poetry Competition, judged by Theo Dorgan. Derek also had a poem accepted for the (April 2024) Green Fuses Vole Poetry Competition.


Greta Ross has a poem 'The Browning of the Year' accepted for the Green Fuses Vole Poetry Competition. The Pennine Platform journal accepted her poem 'Womb on the Move', which is in Issue 95 – April 2024. Greta has also has had a poem 'Frontline' accepted by Chapter House (Canterbury), for their 'Breaking the Static' anthology.
