Canterbury Festival Poet of the Year Competition 2025

Download the entry form here

The Canterbury Festival Poet of the Year Competition 2025 launched on 3 March 2025 and you have until Monday 2 June 2025 to submit your entry.

Poems entered may be on any subject and in any poetic format, but no more than 60 lines long. They should be submitted with an entry form which may be downloaded below, and a fee of £5 per poem.

We are delighted to share that the prize money this year has been increased, so the winner not only receives the title of Canterbury Festival Poet of the Year, but also £300. Second place wins £150, and third £75.

So, polish up those sonnets, limericks and haikus, prepare your elegies and odes, then send them to the Festival Office. Remember not to put your name on the poem itself as they are all judged anonymously. Please read the Terms and Conditions carefully before submitting your entries, and we will look forward to receiving them.
